In order to further the goals of BANG, as well as to facilitate its activities three thematic committees have been established: "Legislative matters", "Security of gas supplies" and "Metrology".
Chairman: Alexander Kozhuharov, Dep. Executive Director, "Citygas" EAD
The main activities of the committee are:
1 Active participation in state projects for legislative acts and decisions in the area of natural gas through:
a) the drafting of positions on proposed laws and sub-law acts;
b) the initiation of improvements of the existing legislation in the area of natural gas;
2 Harmonization of the technical standards in the country in accordance with the EU norms;
3 Analysis of the changes in the EU legislation related to natural gas and their effect on the Bulgarian national legislation;
Chairman: Momchil Momchilov, Executive Director, "Sevlievogas-2000" JSC
The purpose of this committee is:
1 To develop and propose a detailed and up-to-date anti-crisis mechanism with different scenarios for a restrictive regime of gas distribution, depending on whether the suspension of the gas supplies is complete or partial;
2 To prepare a proposal for the precise defining of the different categories of protected consumers (i.e. residential, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, etc.) in accordance with the Gas Security of Supply Directive 2004/67 of the European Commission.
Chairman: Georgi Bazadjiev, Manager "Energy efficiency", "Overgas Inc." AD
The tasks of the committee are in accordance with the adopted principals of the Energy Council in 2005 for susutainable developement. These principles include the permanent necessity of encouriging the economic prosperity based on innovative, competitive andecology effective economy, environmental protection and improvment of it quality, encouriging fairness and social cohesion in solidarity with the rest part of the world. The specific goals are:
1. To work on the measurement of the potential of the gasification in order to acheive the national goals "20-20-20" for limiting the climate changes;
2. To work on creating sustailable environment through planning and stimulating the developement and the adoption of ecological and energiy efficient technologies using natural gas.
